UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA

RECREATION CENTER

MISSOULA, MT

PORTFOLIO

UM Recreation Center

The Student Recreation Center (38,000 sf of remodel space & 40,000 sf of new construction) has been described as the north gateway to the campus. The high profile nature and location of this project suggested during early design meetings that the Rec Center building ought to tell about student lifestyle and pride at the University of Montana.  There is no doubt that the 50’ climbing tower will portray a strong visual image.  Through the climbing tower , the glazed curving wall viewing out to the Clark Fork River, the sense of permanence provided by masonry construction and the entry progression to the building, there is no mistaking what is important to the students living in Missoula, Montana.
